Deactivating a Product and Selecting a Replacement Product

A product that will no longer be used cannot be deleted. You can, however, deactivate it so that it can no longer be used.

How to deactivate a product

  1. Open the product register and locate the product you wish to deactivate.
  2. Select the Miscellaneous tab.
  3. Select Yes in the Inactive field.
  4. Select whether you want to link this product to an active product, which is to replace this product. Locate the replacement product from the product list. Select it and click OK.
  5. Click Save.

You can re-activate the product at any time.

When the product is inactivated you can still open it from the product list. However, you are no longer able to include the product in transactions.

The inactive product’s product card will now have a new symbol displayed next to the product number (top right). Clicking on it will lead you to the active replacement product.

If the replacement product is a variation of the main product, the main product will open focusing on the Variation tab. The specific variation will be marked.

Note! The link to the replacement product will be deleted when you re-activate the product.
