The program sends e-mails from Outlook. Additionally, you can select to integrate the system with Outlook so that incoming e-mails in Outlook will be transferred to the program as an activity or so meetings from the Outlook calendar will be transferred to the calendar in your Mamut Business Software, for example. You can use the integration whether you are using Outlook as your e-mail editor for outgoing e-mails or the program's own e-mail editor. To activate the integration you need to go to View - Settings - User. Select the Settings per Module tab and click on the Outlook icon. E-mails received in Outlook can be set to create an activity for the involved contact within the program automatically. This can only occur if the program can locate the sender's e-mail address in one of your contact cards, or you can create such an activity manually. You can also synchronise the task list and the calendar - in both these ways.
Read here for more information on how to get started with using e-mail in the program.
Note! Throughout this introduction to the Outlook integration Mamut Business Software will be referred to as 'the program'.
Note! To be able to activate this integration you need to have Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer. The integration is compatible with Outlook 2003 with SP1 and Outlook 2007. (It is not compatible with Outlook Express.)
Set the synchronisation parameters
Transferring activities from the program to the calendar and task list in Outlook: Activities you create in the program can be automatically transferred to the calendar and task list in Outlook.
Select between automated synchronisation and manual transfer: Automated synchronisation means that activities will be created in the program automatically based on the selections you have made in the user settings for Outlook. Manual transfer means that you can choose to create an activity in the program manually based on the selections you have made in the user settings for Outlook.
Select which types of attachments should be synchronised: You can select whether an attachment to an incoming e-mail should be transferred to the Document module in the program and if so, which types of attachments you want to allow.
Transfer activities from Outlook and set the default values for these: Activities in the task list and the calendar can be transferred to the calendar or task list in the program. Additionally, you can have activities created based on both incoming and outgoing e-mails.

Special menu bar in Outlook
You will get a separate menu bar in Outlook to be able to control the integration directly from there.

Create new e-mails to contacts from the program's Contact register in Outlook: In the menu bar you will have a separate button for New e-mail, which lets you search for contacts in the Contact register in the program before creating an e-mail to these contacts.
Create contacts directly in Outlook and synchronise them with the program: You can create a contact or contact person directly from Outlook and synchronise it immediately, even if the contact does not exist in the program already.
Open the contact card and activities directly from Outlook: You can open the contact card and the activity that might go with it in the program from a synchronised element in Outlook.
Check the synchronisation status of an element: You can check whether each element has been synchronised and if so, to which contact, with or without any attachments and more. This gives you full control over the elements in both programs.
Important points
System administrator: The e-mail settings are made at the individual user level.
Recurring items: In Outlook, items in the calendar can be set to recur at certain intervals so that they are repeated in the calendar. Such items can only be synchronised as one element in the program, i.e. only the main occurrence will synchronise.
Multi-user: The functionality only supports integration with your own Outlook. It is not possible to create activities in the program that will be synchronised with the Outlook of other users.
Multi-contact: E-mails sent from Outlook to several contacts/contact persons that are registered in the program will only synchronise with the first of these contacts.
Several company databases: Outlook integration can only be applied to one company database. If you have several company databases you need to select which one you want to integrate with. However, you can change the target company database by turning the integration off where it is active and then turning it on in a different company database.
Deleting elements in Outlook: When you delete an element in Outlook, a message box will pop up asking you whether you also want to delete the corresponding activity in the program. This message will only show if you use the Delete function (the X icon in the Outlook toolbar). You should not delete the element 'directly' through command 'Shift + Enter', as this command removes the element permanently without it being possible to also delete the related element in the program.
