License Information

What is a license?

When you purchase a data program, you buy the right to install and use the software on the number of computers you specified and purchased a license for.

You will receive a license number as proof of having paid the license fee. The license number acts as a key that 'unlocks' functionality when you register the number within the program.

The license number controls your access to the software. You can use the program without a license number, however this will only grant you access to an evaluation version. This kind of version is only available for a limited number of days.

The license number is used for one or more of the following circumstances

You are a new Mamut customer and are using the program for the first time.
You wish to extend the period of the existing Mamut Service Agreement.
You wish to increase the number of program users.
You are going to upgrade your version of the program and want additional functionality.

Where do I find the license number?

As a new customer, you will receive a license number. If you have purchased the program from a retailer, you will find a letter containing the license number within the product pack. If you have bought the program directly from Mamut, you will receive an e-mail with your license number. Should you not have an e-mail address, you will receive a letter with the license number by post.

How do I register my license number?

The license number is registered either by filling in the registration form during the first time startup of the program, or by going to Help - About - Register License number when in the program. Find out more in Register Licence Number.

Downloading license files

When you renew your license agreement, upgrade to a more extensive Mamut program, expand your program with additional products, or increase the number of user licenses, you are required to download the license file in order to update your license information. The new functionality will then become available. Usually, you can update your license information directly via the Internet by clicking on Help - About - License file. Read from license file

Under certain circumstances you will be asked to read in your license information from a file you receive from the software supplier, e.g. either in a letter or via e-mail. The feature can be found under Help - About. Find out more in Licence File.

Manage license information

The functions under Help - About - Manage License Information provide you with an overview of all your licenses for websites, main as well as additional products. You can also adjust which machines the licenses apply to, if you are operating with a multi-user installation, how you want to divide the licenses for additional products, and which of your websites should be active at any given point. Users without internet access

During the registration of your license number you will be asked whether you have access to the Internet. If you answer 'No' to this question, you will have the option of printing a license letter, which you will need to send to Mamut by post or fax. Once we have registered your license letter we will send you a license in the post. You need to import the license into the program, by going to Help - About - License file. Read more in Licence File.
