User Administration

Through the User Administration screen you are able to manage the users of Linux Web Server. These are the users that have access to edit your website via FTP. You are able to create an unlimited amount of users.

Please note that if you wish to protect your website by requiring login credentials, you need to add the users that have access in your .htaccess file.

The only information you need to provide in order to create a new user is a username and a password.

How to create a new user for Linux Web Server

  1. Click Products in the top menu.

  2. Select the domain through the radio buttons, in case you have more than one.

  3. Click Linux Web Server to open the administration screen. Click User Administration.

  4. Enter a username in the corresponding field. The username is in the format of an e-mail address and includes your domain name, for instance, example@yourdomain.com.

  5. Enter the desired password in the corresponding fields. Your password must contain at least 4 characters, must include one upper case letter, one lower case letter, and one numeric digit.

  6. Define whether the user must be Active or Inactive by clicking On or Off.

  7. Click Add.

The Linux Web Server user has now been created. The username will have the format of an e-mail address.

Tip! You are able to Edit or Remove a user by selecting a user in the drop-down list and then clicking on the corresponding links.
