Getting started with your own web site

It should not take you more than half an hour to have a basic website up and running on the web. A little more time invested and you will be able to present an appealing and professional-looking website including a web shop, if you like.

Below is a simple step-by-step guide of the minimum requirements for registering and creating your own website.

Note! In the program the term 'web site' usually refers to your entire website. Websites can also contain a web shop part, which is the part where you offer your products to your customers to buy off the Internet.

How to register your website and get it onto the web

  1. Select View - E-Commerce - Edit Web Site.

  2. Click New to create your own website and select a name for it.

  3. Register web site and follow the wizard helping you to create an address for the website and to register it on the Mamut server.

You can now open your web browser, e.g. Internet Explorer, and go to the address you registered.

Editing content on your website

Once you have registered your website you can start to customise and edit the content you would like to fill your website with. The editing takes place in the Edit Web Site module, which you will find by going to View - E-Commerce - Edit Web Site. The module is built in the form of a wizard taking you from one window to another by clicking Next. This guides you through all the tabs where you can register information. You can also go to the About the Company, Content, Web Shop and Design template tabs and their respective sub-tabs directly.

You can find out more about how to edit the content on your website here.

When you have added all your information for your website you need to update/publish the content in order for it to show on your website on the Internet. You do so by going to View - E-Commerce - Update Web Site.

You can find out more about how to update/publish your website here.

Tip! If you cannot see your changes after you have updated your website, hold down the [Ctrl] and press [F5] a few times to update the content on the screen.
