About Manage Roles

When you invite a user to Mamut Online, you must assign a role. You want to manage these roles so that you keep internal control over what your users are privileged to.

For instance, if you have a sales consultant and an accountant, you might not want the same role set to both. By inviting both users to Mamut Online, with different roles, you do not have to worry that a sales consultant have access to sensitive financial data.

Note! The super user of Mamut Online can always change a users role, or define more/less access, as the user's role changes over time.

In the Manage Roles screen, you find all the predefined roles, as well as the opportunity to create new roles. Each role is defined through different levels of access.

Under the columns Modified by and Date Modified, you will see entries on who and when a role was changed. Predefined roles are darker in these columns because it is not possible to make any modifications to these roles.

In the Actions column, you can expand a role to either edit a user-defined role, or review a predefined role. You can Duplicate all roles, as well as Deleting old user-defined roles. Note that a user-defined role can not be deleted if the role is assigned to a user. You can delete the role when you have assigned the user to a different role.

Create a new Role

At the bottom of the screen, you have the option of creating new roles. Enter the Role name, and click on the plus icon Add new, to add the new role and define access.

You now see all the functionality in Mamut Online and need to choose access level.

Access can be defined as Full, Read, No access, or User-defined access to entire areas, or to individual features within each area. If you choose user-defined access, you can grant access to each individual feature within that area. The super user can alter all user-defined roles over time as the users needs changes.
