The Journal Template Register

Journal templates are fixed journals with pre-defined journal lines that can be retrieved through the Journal Entry window. You can create as many journal templates as you want or edit one of the pre-defined templates and adapt it to your own needs.

As well as creating fixed journal lines, a journal template can also define which variable information is entered each time the journal template is used. A journal template can also create a number of accounts for pre-payments, which divide an amount into fixed intervals throughout the year.

The template list

The journal templates are grouped by the area of use. Through the drop-down list at the very top of the window you can select to display templates from an individual Group. This improves the overview.

Double-click on the template you want to edit or use the toolbar for further administration of the templates:

Click New to create a new journal template. The wizard that creates new journal templates will open.

Click Edit if you want to edit an existing template. This will also start the wizard for journal templates.

Click Duplicate after selecting the journal template you want copied. This will create a new journal template in the list.

Click Import to import a file containing new journal templates. These could e.g. be journal templates that you have exported from another company  database.

Click Export to save information on a selection of journal templates in a file. The file can be imported to another company database later.

Group: From the drop down list in the upper right corner, you can select which Group should be displayed in the list.

Click the button in order to edit or add journal template groups.
