How to ring another Skype user from the Contact/Contact person card
Find the contact/contact person you want to call.
Select the telephone number, e.g. the Skype number,
in the Telephone
field.
Click on the telephone icon.
Accept that the user 'Mamut' should be allowed to call, should you be asked about this.
An outgoing call is set up. The status for
the call can be followed in the Skype
calls window.
Note! In order to call a land line
or mobile number via Skype the number must be registered with 0044
or +44 in front
of the number. (For international numbers the country code is used for
the specific country). You also need to purchase Skype credit in order
to be able to call land lines or mobile telephone numbers. You can read
more on SkypeOut at www.skype.com (external link).
How to accept a Skype phone call
When someone calls you, the Skype calls window will open as well as a separate Skype window.
Answer/Open:
You answer the phone. If the number or name for the incoming caller is
registered for a contact, the respective contact card will open.
Open:
Opens the contact card for the involved contact, but does not answer the
call.
Cancel/Hang up:
Ends the call.
Mamut searches for the involved contact by Skype number/Skype name.
Initialisation: By default
Skype links itself to the Windows startup. Additionally, Skype
may start up when you start up your Mamut program. If you have temporarily
closed Skype you cannot initiate a Skype call from Mamut; you need to
start Skype first.
