View - Accounts - Journal Entry
In the User settings you can select which columns you want displayed in Journal Entry. You can define up to five different user setting setups which can be customised to display the columns of your choice. The user settings are linked to the user set ups available from the drop down list to the left of the User Settings button.
Note! Some columns will always be displayed.

Description |
L |
Indicates the line number. Each journal consists of a minimum of two entry lines, and the numbering starts at 1 for every journal. |
N/C |
N/C for the main entry. The amount you enter in this line will be transferred to this N/C here. |
Double entry N/C |
The amount entered under Debit or Credit is entered against this N/C, with deductions for any VAT codes in the N/C. |
Details |
To increase the information value of the accounts you should make use of this column to further describe the item. Otherwise, the account name is entered here. |
Debtor/creditor acc. |
Customers and suppliers have their own Customer and Supplier Ledger number, which corresponds to the contact and supplier number that they have been allocated in the Contact Register. |
Invoice |
Customer and supplier ledger items are linked to the Invoice for the account receivable/payable that has been entered. This column cannot be edited directly. The number itself is entered in a separate screen. |
VAT |
Several N/Cs are linked to a separate VAT code. The code will display, and can be changed, in this column. |
VAT report code |
VAT report code shows which 'box' on the VAT return the journal entry line will be reported to. |
Project |
If an account is linked to a Project it will display in this column. You can also select a Project from the drop-down list manually. |
Department |
If an account is linked to a Department it will display in this column. You can also select a Department from the drop-down list manually. |
Currency |
Journal items can be registered in a foreign currency. The currency is indicated in this field. The journal entry will be registered in the customer’s currency. Make sure to keep the Currency Register updated. |
Debit |
Shows the amount that is entered to Debit. |
Credit |
Shows the amount that is entered to Credit. |
