File Administration

Through Windows Explorer in Mamut Application Hosting, you get access to your storage directories within the solution. You will also get access to your sites on Mamut Application Hosting.

When you send files, in some situations it might be better to send/receive directly from than from your local drive.

Here we explain how you can switch between your local drives and drives on Mamut Application Hosting and how you copy files to and from these drives.

Note! In order to access your local hard drive, you must specify that the service will have access to Drives at startup. Read more about this in Using the Service.

Start the explorer by clicking Windows Explorer within the welcome window in Mamut Application Hosting.

The following file directories are available:

Store and process files

You can copy files by "drag-and-drop", or by using keyboard commands.

Note! The folders, Desktop, Document, Downloads and so on that are displayed are not on your local machine. These belong to the profile P: on Mamut Application Hosting.

To find a file that is stored on your desktop on your local machine, you must scroll on C on Computername – Users – [Your username] – Desktop.

Using Window Explorer, the file path on Mamut Application Hosting will then for example be: \\tsclient\C\Users\Brukernavn\Desktop\.

How to copy a file with help of keyboard commands

  1. Open the folder where the file is located.
  2. Click once on the file in order to select it.
  3. Press [CTRL]+[C] on your keyboard.
  4. Open the folder to where you wish to copy the file.
  5. Press [CTRL]+[V] on your keyboard.

The file will now be copied to the destination folder.

Layout of Remittance/factoring/debt collection

If Mamut Business Software uses remittance, factoring or export to a debt collection agency, you can define this within the settings and specify whether with import/export of files the H: drive or local drive will be used. Using the local drive will take longer than import/export to the H: drive of the solution, but you will not need to manually copy files between the server and local drive.

Note! For security reasons, we do not recommend you use the Internet Explorer version found within the solution for accessing your online bank. When using the H: drive for the remittance feature in Mamut Business Software you should therefore transfer the files manually to your local computer and administer the remittance files from there.

Import and export files on Home (H:)

If you use OCR, remitting, factoring or export to debt-collecting agency, the setting can be formatted so that Home (H:) will be used.

  1. Start Windows Explorer on Mamut Application Hosting.
  2. Make sure you are on Home (H:).
  3. Create a new folder by clicking on New Folder on the upper-most part of the window or use the right-click menu.
  4. Enter name on the folder, for example OCR, Remittance,  Factoring or Debt collection.
  5. Start Mamut Business Software on Mamut Application Hosting.
  6. Click Show - Settings - Accounting - Customer & Supplier Ledger.
  7. Click on Setting to the right of, for example Company. This import OCR files from banks (or REmittance, Factoring, Debt collection).
  8. In the field Folder, choose H:/OCR/

Copy the files you receive on to your local server

If you receive the OCR file on your local machine, you must open Windows Explorer and copy the file to Mamut Application Hosting. If you are to send a remittance file to the online bank, you must copy the remittance file from Mamut Application Hosting to your local machine and then send it to the online bank.

Import and export files from local machine

You can export files directly from Mamut to your local machine provided that your are connect to Mamut Application Hosting from Microsoft Windows.

This will probably take some more time than importing/exporting directly from the H: server on Mamut Application Hosting, but you will not need to manually copy files between the server and your local machine.

You can to your local C-drive (C:\ ) with the file path \\tsclient\C\ . If you, for example have a folder named OCR directly on your C-drive (C:\OCR), the name of the folder will be \\tsclient\C\OCR\.

You must establish such a path if you wish to import/export directly from you locale machine.

Note! If you choose to use a local path, the import/export will not work from other machines. This is because Mamut will read/write from the local C: drive on the machine you currently are working from.

If you use OCR, remittance, factoring or export to debt collection, the settings can be formatted for the local C: to be used.

  1. Start Windows Explorer on your local machine.
  2. Double click on your local C: drive.
  3. Right click and select New - Folder.
  4. Enter a name for the folder, for example OCR, Remittenca, Factoring or Debt Collection.
  5. Start Mamut Business Software Mamut Application Hosting.
  6. Click Show - Settings - Accounting - Customer & Supplier Ledger.
  7. Click Settings on the right side of for example Company. This imports the OCR files from bank (or Remittance, Factoring or Debt Collection).
  8. Select \\tsclient\C\OCR\ In the field Folder.
