Every now and then the software provider offers new system files, available for download via the Internet. Read more in Updating to a New Version.
In this function's wizard you select to download the system files from the Internet. This will lead you to a window displaying the system files available.
Note! Please be aware that some of these system files are not being installed automatically but need to be run from the location you download the files to.
This function should not be used, unless the software provider has informed you that new system files are available. Information about available system files can be found in the regular marketing communication from the software provider.
System file updates the log files with information about which functions have been downloaded, the date, time, user and update number.
How to download new system files
- Create a backup of your system.
- Go to File - Database Utilities - Download system files.
- Select Download files from the internet and click Next. The next window will show which file(s) will be downloaded. All files shown here will be downloaded.
- Click on Next to download the file(s).
- Specify where you want to store the files.
The files will be stored in the location you have specified. When you click OK the program closes. The update will commence automatically if it only contains one file. If there are several files, the explorer will open the folder where you have saved the files. Install the new files by double-clicking on them. Should there be several files, you will need to run the update several times. For multi-user installations, the system administrator must log off all users and install the files on the server first, before the files are installed on each workstation.
Tip! If you are not connected to the Internet, some of the new files may be available via another media. You can use the same menu selections to import the system files from the storage media but you will need to select Read the file from your machine or another storage media for step 3 above.
