Activating Linux Web Server


In order to get started with Linux Web Server, you are required to activate it first. The activation consists of a two step wizard. In the first step you have to enter information about your website and the administrator. In the second step you are required to confirm that the summary of the data you entered is correct in order to fulfil the procedure.

How to activate Linux Web Server

  1. Click Products in the top menu.

  2. Select your domain through the radio buttons, in case you have more than one.

  3. Click Start using Linux Web Server.

  4. In the Hostname field, enter the hostname you would like to use for your website, for example www.

  5. The e-mail/username of the administrator in myMamut will automatically be suggested. The e-mail will be a part of your username when logging into Linux Web Server.

  6. Create a password and re-enter it in the corresponding field. The password must be at least 4 characters, must not exceed 20 characters, and must include at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, and one numeric digit. This is the password that you will need to log into Linux Web Server.

  7. Click Next.

  8. In the second step of the wizard, check that all of the data entered is correct and click Finish in order to start the activation of the service.
    If you need to edit the data you entered, click Previous.

The activation of the Linux Web Server will now be initiated.

Tip! Once the activation has taken place you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You are able to check the status of your Linux Web Server within the Contract information.

Once you have received a confirmation e-mail stating that your service has been activated, you are able to refresh the status of your contract and access the administration menu by clicking the Activate icon. That is, if you did not log out of myMamut since you running the activation wizard.
