Through the File Manager Screen you are able to connect to an online FTP client, which enables you to edit your website. Clicking the button File Manager will open a new window in which you need to enter the FTP information and your login credentials.
How to start the File Manager
Click Products in the top menu.
Select the domain through the radio buttons, in case you have more than one.
Click Linux Web Server
to open the administration screen. Click File
Manager.
Note! The file manager opens in a separate tab or window
Enter the name of the FTP Server. You can find this in Product Information screen.
The Port is always 21, which is predefined.
Select Passive
if you wish to use the passive mode.
De mode (active or passive) determines how the connection between your
computer and the server is established. You need to use the passive mode
if your firewall does not accept incoming TCP connections.
Enter your Username and Password. You can find this information in the User administration screen.
Select the Language you wish to use and click Log on.
The file manager will now open.
Getting started with the File Manager
The File Manager looks similar to Windows Explorer.
Top bar
The top bar contains two buttons. With the button Up you are able to navigate one level up within your directory. Click the button Switch Binary/ASCII to change the transfer mode. Binary mode is recommended as this will allow you to send data other than plain text.
At the right side of the top bar you can see which directory is currently showing in the main window.
Main window
The main window shows the files and directories (folders) in the directory you are currently in. Double click a directory to open it.
In order to access the root of your website, you must double click the directory which is called the same as your domain name. From there, double click cgi-bin to upload scripts, or www to upload html files. The other options are not in use.
Left panel
The left panel contains the menu File and Folder Tasks. Some menu items are only visible when a file or directory is selected. The following menu items are available:
Delete file: Delete the selected file or directory.
Edit: Edit the selected file or directory.
