Getting Started with Mamut Validis

Mamut Validis is a web based accounting service that is designed to provide a means of analysing and identifying potential anomalies within your accounting data.

Before getting started

Before getting started with Mamut Validis, you need to create your Mamut ID and connect to Mamut Online Desktop. Mamut ID is a common login service for a range of applications and services provided by Mamut. This is an important step as Mamut Online Desktop is what synchronises your data between Mamut Business Software and Mamut Validis. Find out more about creating a Mamut ID here.

Within Mamut Business Software, through the Mamut Validis focus area you will be able to log in to Mamut Online Desktop where you can access Mamut Validis. You can also access Mamut Validis via a web browser.

Before you start using Mamut Validis it is important that you use the Partially close accounts feature found under View – Accounting to make sure you have opening balances for the years being analysed. If you do not have Opening Balances your results could be affected.

How to get started

Log into Mamut Online Desktop through the web browser, using your Mamut ID.
You are able to login directly via the Mamut Online Desktop web browser at www.mamutonline.com or via the Mamut Validis focus area within Mamut Business Software.
.From the Mamut Online Desktop tool bar click Work Areas - Mamut Validis - Mamut Validis Desktop, this will take you directly to the Mamut Validis work area.
Click Analyse & Validate to begin the process of uploading your data.
Please be patient while your data from Mamut Business Software is uploaded to Mamut Validis through Mamut Online Desktop. The progress bar on the Mamut Validis work area will indicate the status of the process.

Your data from Mamut Business Software has now been synchronised with Mamut Validis.

Note! Once the upload process is complete, Mamut Online Desktop will automatically create your Mamut Validis profile. Read more about the Mamut Validis profile here.

If you wish to adjust how an account is being interpreted by Mamut Validis you will need to go to View – Accounting – Chart of accounts and then select the Advanced tab. Here you will see a Mamut Validis setting with a drop-down selection. If you would like to change the way the account is being read by Mamut Validis just select the correct option from the drop-down menu and then click Save. The next time you Analyse & Validate your data, the changes will be visible in Mamut Validis.

Within Mamut Online Desktop, Mamut Validis is available to Mamut Business Software customers. Access rights will depend on your licence type.
