How to Install: Single-user


How to Install a Single-User Version from a CD:

Close all other programs before proceeding with the installation.

  1. Insert your Mamut Business Software CD in your CD/DVD drive.

    If nothing has happened after 10 seconds, you can launch the file manually by going to the Start menu in Windows® and choosing Run. Enter "X:\Setup" (Replace the X with the name of your CD-ROM drive).

  1. Select country: United Kingdom.

  2. Select Install Mamut Business Software now. Mamut Business Software will launch the installation program InstallShield Wizard automatically. This process may take some time. After this is complete, the Mamut Business Software install wizard will launch.

  3. Click Next in the Welcome window.

  1. The user agreement must be accepted before the installation can be completed. If you wish to continue, indicate that You accept the terms of the above user agreement. Click Next.

  1. In the next window, select installation type Single user.

    Install to
    : The program automatically suggests a location for the program files. If you want to install to this file path, click Next.

    .If you want to install to a different location, click the button to enter a file path manually.

  1. Click Install to start the installation.

    The install wizard checks if there are any other programs running. Close all programs and click Retry if you are prompted to do so.

  1. The program is based on Microsoft® SQL Server® Database software. If you do not already have Microsoft SQL Server installed, the install wizard will install a free version of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express® Edition.

    About the Database.

    Your Mamut system will now be installed and the program files will be saved to the specified location. This process may take some time. It is important that you do not cancel this process.

  1. Click Finish in order to complete the installation. Please restart your computer if you are prompted to do so.

  2. .Launch Mamut Business Software by clicking the shortcut on the desktop or from the Start menu.

You will now launch the first start-up wizard.

First Start-Up Single-User:

  1. Select version type:

    Select
    Register licence.

  2. Get Started:

    Click
    Next.

  3. Document directory:

    Choose location for storing documents and other files.

    Next if you want to use the pre-defined location.

    Click the icon if you wish to define your own document directory. Click Next

    Database
    : Server and Instance are created automatically.

    About the Database..

  1. Single or multi user installation: Select Single user.

  2. Create a user profile:

    Enter
    Full name, User name and Password. This will be your user profile in the system. Please make a note of your user name and password.

  3. Register the program:

    Enter all relevant information about yourself and your company. In the
    Licence Number field, enter the licence number that you have received.

    Tip!
    The licence number can be entered using both upper- and lower-case letters. In the licence number, <0> is always a digit, not a letter.

  4. Create a new company database:

    You can choose to create a new company database with the help of a wizard. The wizard will guide you through the most important settings. Select No thank you... if you do not want to launch the wizard.

  5. Company Settings:

    If you have chosen not to use the wizard to create your company database, you must enter the relevant company information in the company settings window before completing the startup.

  6. Click Complete.
