WorldPay

Who/What is WorldPay?

WorldPay is one of the world’s leading e-commerce solutions companies and provides a one-stop service to enable businesses to trade on the net. WorldPay manages the entire transaction process when a customer in your web shop wishes to pay by credit/debit card. WorldPay ensures that security is maintained, preventing fraud. Furthermore, it is possible for you as a retailer and your customer to log on to the WorldPay website in order to check the transaction.

You can find out more about WorldPay by going to their website at www.worldpay.com (external link).

How does it work for the web shop owner?

All orders placed in your web shop, including orders where the chosen payment method is credit/debit card, are downloaded into Mamut in the usual manner. The only difference is that orders paid for by credit/debit card include a transaction ID, allowing you to trace the order/transaction via an online administration system to which you have access at WorldPay, called CMS (Customer Management System). See below for more information on CMS.

As soon as you have sent the goods to the customer, you log on to the CMS administration system, indicating that the necessary amount can be debited (settled) from the customer’s account. This amount will then be transferred to your Merchant Account. Each week, the total in your Merchant Account is transferred to your bank account.

How does it work for the customer?

When the customer in your web shop has placed the selected items in the shopping cart, he/she clicks on the button for placing an order. At this point, the customer also indicates the preferred form of delivery and payment and fills in a personal information form.

After this, an order confirmation will pop up on the screen. When this is confirmed, the customer will automatically be transferred to the WorldPay website, where he must enter his credit/debit card information. WorldPay will then verify whether this information is correct. When this information has been verified, the purchase total will be reserved, but not debited, from the purchaser’s account.

The purchaser will then receive a receipt on screen and by e-mail. This receipt will include a Merchant's Reference (cart id), a unique ID reference number for the order and a transaction number. These numbers can be used to track the order via an online administration system which the customer can access in WorldPay. The customer will also receive an order confirmation from the Mamut website by e-mail when the retailer's shopping cart receives notification of credit/debit card approval from WorldPay.

IMPORTANT: Please remember that initially, the purchase total is only reserved in the purchaser’s account. The full amount will not be debited from the purchaser’s account and transferred to your account until you have dispatched the merchandise. As owner of the web shop you need to log on to CMS, the online administration system, and indicate that you are to receive payment for the dispatched merchandise.

All credit/debit card information is stored in the so-called Secure Server, where all information is encrypted so as to avoid fraud.
