Client Update
Client Update enables you to update several databases simultaneously. It is also possible to choose to update company databases within a system database. Updating can take some time with large amounts of data. It is important that you allow the update to complete. Once the update has been executed a status window will appear that informs you that the wizard is complete.
The files used for updating should be the newest available files. Client Update will check whether there are company or system databases that are not updated compared to the databases you have registered in Client Start.
How to update databases
- Double-click the ClientUpdate.exe
program file to start Client Update. The program file is located in your Mamut directory in the
ClientManager folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Mamut\ClientManager).
- If you haven't done this before, click the Settings tab to adjust the settings. Read more Settings for Client Update. Once this is done, proceed with step 3.
- On the Functions tab, click the Update-button to start the update wizard.
- Select from where Client Update shall retrieve the databases which shall be updated:
Show databases found on the server: Client Manager will search for the databases on your server.
Import list of databases from a file: You provide Client Manager with an import file containing those databases which shall be updated.
Click Next. - Did you choose Show databases found on the server in the step before? Then select the databases you wish to update.
If a company database is shown in grey, it cannot be updated as it is
the latest version. The numbers besides the system and company databases are database versions. How the databases are presented depends on the settings. Read more in Settings for Client Update.

Error handling
If the log report window after an update contains error messages in the Error description column, you can first try to run the wizard again by clicking New update.
If this doesn't help, save a printout with the result from the log report and send it to the Mamut Support Centre:
- Click Save to file in the log window, to create a printed version from the log result list as shown in this window (filter settings are applied).
- Click Save systems to file to create a list with all system databases which haven't been updated. The format is identical with the format used for updating a customer set from a file.
