Activating your Windows Web Server

In order to get started with Windows Web Server, you are required to activate it first. The activation consists of a two step wizard. In the first step you have to enter information about your website and the administrator. In the second step you are required to confirm that the summary of the data you entered is correct in order to fulfil the procedure.

How to activate your Windows Web Server

  1. Click Products in the top menu.

  2. Select your domain through the radio buttons, in case you have more than one.

  3. Click Start using Windows Web Server.

  4. In the Hostname field, enter the hostname you would like to use for your website, for example www.

  5. The e-mail/username of the administrator in myMamut will automatically be suggested. The e-mail will be a part of your username when logging into Windows Web Server.

  6. Create a password and re-enter it in the corresponding field. The password must be at least 6 characters, must not exceed 20 characters, and must include at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, and one numeric digit. This is the password that you will need to log into Windows Web Server.

  7. Define the FTP access. To enable the different access rights click on the corresponding buttons. Enabling the Read access right allows you to download files from the server, while enabling Write access allows you to upload files to the server. Once the service is activated, you are able to edit these access rights through the User administration screen.

  8. Define the WebDAV access. To enable the different access rights click on the corresponding buttons. Enabling the Read access right allows you to download files from the server, while enabling Write access allows you to upload files to the server. Once the service is activated, you are able to edit these access rights through the User administration screen.

  9. Click Next.

  10. In the second step of the wizard, check that all of the data entered is correct and click Finish in order to start the activation of the service.
If you need to edit the data you entered, click Previous.

The activation of your Windows Web Server will now be initiated.

Tip! Once the activation is complete, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You are able to check the status of your Windows Web Server through the Contract information view.

Once you have received the confirmation e-mail stating that your service has been activated, you are able to click refresh in your web browser and access the administration menu by clicking the Windows Web Server icon; that is if you did not log out of myMamut after running the activation wizard.
