The exceptions must be correctly defined in the Windows Firewall

A firewall blocks certain information which is passed over a network or Internet in order to prevent hackers or malicious software from gaining access to your computer. When installing Microsoft SQL Server, the exceptions SQLServer.exe, SQLBrowser.exe and Port 1433 might not be correctly defined in the firewall. ®

If you are installing Mamut Business Software for a single-user, i.e. the program and the database will be installed and used on one computer only, it is not necessary to define the exceptions. We recommend nevertheless to perform the steps if you might change to a multi-user installation at a later stage.

Defining the exceptions in the Windows Firewall

If you get this warning, you can complete the installation. Follow the instructions in either Firewall on the Server, in the advanced installation guide, or on our website www.mamut.co.uk/getstartedwww.mamut.co.uk/getstarted.
