The service SQL Server must be running for the instance

The service SQL Server enables the Microsoft SQL Server to function, and must therefore be running when using Mamut Business Software. Normally this service will be started automatically, if not, you need to start it manually via the procedure below.®

How to start the service SQL Server

  1. Cancel the installation of Mamut Business Software by clicking Next and then Finish in the wizard.
  2. Go to Start - All programs - Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 - Configuration Tools - SQL Server Configuration Manager.
  3. Click on SQL Server Services on the left side of the window.
  4. Right click SQL Server (MAMUT) and select Start or Restart.
    Note!
MAMUT is the default name for the instance and is suggested during the installation. If you have chosen another instance, you need to replace MAMUT with the name you have chosen.
  5. Close SQL Server Configuration Manager.

You can now start the installation of Mamut Business Software again.

If the same error occurs when installing Mamut Business Software again, you need to completely remove Microsoft SQL Server. The procedure for doing so can be found in The sqlservr.exe file for the instance has not been found.
